Description: Exactly as the title suggest, reducing powerboost price due to reasons I will elaborate below. Best price for powerboost imo would be 50k to let newbie players and veteran buy more freely.
Why: Judging from current server history, even if all factions now are as big as the current biggest faction, server would still have more land and would not exhaust the server land. With how big the server map is, would be a waste not to convert those into economic power, by letting player buy more powerboost and claiming more. By reducing price there will be more demand for powerboost and boost the economy by printing more money/mining/trading. Economy as it is now is stagnating and most rich player don’t use their money as used to be. Netherite and mending prices are pluging down, even my last observation a netherite ingot is sold at a measly 120k… Reducing powerboost price would let player buy more, giving more liquidity to the land to be “bought” by player, boosting overall economy.
How: A tweak in powerboost price, old bought powerboost could be converted to more power, as what has happened in the past.
Pros:
First point: boosting economy
Second point: utilizing underutilized land
Third point: by letting player buy more with less price, overall purchase will be increased as more retail/“poor” player could buy.
Cons: Just some I could think of: more work for staff (negligible i presume as this has happened before with the powerboost change), and more land claimed might mean big faction making "outpost” everywhere (which I don’t think is a problem anyway except for player who hate having neighbour…. Which is strange considering playing in a server)
We don’t want everything to be claimed. We don’t want even half of the world to be claimed, the more land claimed, the less land useable by people.
Wilderness is already a source of income, claiming it won’t change that much.
This is contradictory. If we reduce the price, people will buy more of them, but they are an effectively finite resource: there’s a set number players will want to buy, and once reached, won’t want to buy anymore. All that would happen is people would stop wanting to buy powerboosts sooner.
You don’t increase demand by making something more accessible. Also, you would reduce the amount of money coming into economy by reducing the prices because, well, people are gonna need less.
Reducing the powerboost prices will not make rich people use their money more.
Yes I agree that if all land is claimed it would be bad, but I think the change from 150k to 50k for example won’t reduce a lot of wilderness judging from how many faction there are now. But maybe 50k is too extreme and a more suitable price like 75k or 100k is better could be argued.
The economic boost I propose is because with something to buy on, people would try to get more money. Nowadays the rich mostly don’t need netherite or mendings as they have plenty already. Just in real life, land is valuable and with tweaking the power a bit, server could make them use their money. This also would happen with smaller factions with more accessible pricing. 150k used to be mending price, but nowadays mending doesn’t worth that much, and thus people is harder getting 150k than before.
“Reducing product prices can boost the economy by increasing consumer purchasing power and demand, leading to higher consumption and sales for businesses.”
I have literally sold like 9 mendings at 150k out my shop in the last month alone lol… People are buying it, you just aren’t personally seeing it and are equating that to “oh, the market for x is dead”.
I’d also like to point on that on average, it takes longer to get 150k from getting a mending then just mining in the mines and it’s always been like that because fishing takes a long time. The ease you can get 150k hasn’t really changed any…
Also powerboost is really the only large money sink we have, decrease its price and then theres even less to do with your money… so more stockpiling…
Notably, it doesn’t start at 150k either, nor does it get to 150k until you’re on the 15th boost…
