Lost Items After Using Time Machine

Hey staff,

I recently used the time machine trinket, and after using it, I realized my inventory was missing some important items. At first, I didn’t notice right away, and I panicked, so I didn’t use the /back command until after, but it was already too late.

To be honest, I wasn’t too sure how the time machine trinket worked. I just shifted right-clicked and clicked somewhere else without really knowing what I was doing. After that, my items were gone.

Here’s what I lost:

  • 2 God Pickaxes
  • 1 God Sword
  • Mending Wings (Elytra)
  • God Helmet
  • God Chestplate

If possible, I’d appreciate a refund this time. I’ve definitely learned my lesson, and next time I’ll make sure to ask before using trinkets I don’t fully understand.

I’m gonna rule this as fair loss. The trinket lore says that you’ll be teleported without your belongings:

When you use the trinket, you also get this message in chat:

The items are dropped on the ground at the original position. They can be recovered by just running /back, or going there through other means. The fact that they’re gone means they despawned or someone else took them.

If someone else wants to try recover the items, there’s no custom log for when the trinket is used, nor are there logs for the items dropped, so it won’t be an easy task.

Thanks for replying I agree it was a fair loss but as I said in the heat of the moment I panicked and brain didn’t work and didn’t read what was written and lost all my valuables the things I lost took me forever to make so please I’m hoping to get refunded just this time.

Ast has (essentially) left it to me to decide whether to return the items or not.

Assuming the only item that had mending on it was the Elytra then this seems like more work than it’s worth considering it’d take a couple hours of log searching to find the items and prove what happened considering there is no special logs for it…

Sorry for the late reply. Nope, I lost quite a bit, and all of it was Netherite. Also, they were Halo-themed names; I don’t remember exactly the names, but they were all named after Halo.

Here’s what went missing:
God Pickaxe (Fortune) – Netherite, Efficiency V, Unbreaking III, Mending, Fortune III (Halo-themed name, though I don’t remember exactly the names)

God Pickaxe (Silk Touch) – Netherite, Efficiency V, Unbreaking III, Mending, Silk Touch (Halo-themed name, though I don’t remember exactly the names)

God Sword – Netherite, Sharpness V, Unbreaking III, Mending, Looting III, Fire Aspect II, Sweeping Edge III (Halo-themed name, though I don’t remember exactly the names)

Mending Wings (Elytra) – Unbreaking III, Mending

God Helmet – Netherite, Protection IV, Unbreaking III, Mending, Respiration III, Aqua Affinity

God Chestplate – Netherite, Protection IV, Unbreaking III, Mending

I do appreciate the help, and I understand it’s too much work to track my items, but I did lose a lot of valuables. I’d appreciate it if they were restored. I do respect whatever decision you guys make. Let me know what you guys decide. If you guys need additional information, do ask I’ll try my best.

Could you provide the date and time in UTC of when you used the time machine?

The date and time I used the time machine was on March 3rd, 2025, sometime between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM CST. That would be around March 4th, 2025, between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM UTC. I’m not 100% sure of the exact minute, but it definitely fell within that window.

I found where it was used; however, as Ast said, what was dropped doesn’t appear to be logged anywhere. It is essentially impossible for me to determine what you had in your inventory at the time of the use…
