Description: Each Faction would be granted special “Permanent Area” (preferably in square and in chunks, for example 3x3 chunks from bedrock to sky). In this are everything will be transferable to whatever the server version will be, outside the area, everything will be lost. Ofc this Permanent Area must not include stuff that are not allowed to be moved using WE like spawners, amethyst node, etc
Why: Easier staff work (well maybe the height limit and depth limit could be modified if too large)
How: A tweak to the faction regulation.
Pros:
First point: Giving much smooth transition between version update. The server is not easily update-able with hassle of WE of faction storage, structures, pixelart, etc with various size and dimensions.
Second point: Giving player more peace of mind knowing easier move between versions.
Third point: By controling how big this Permanent Area is, the server could control how dynamic the server will be, how much change will happen in new map, how much ugly structure won’t be moved to new server map.
Cons:
First: might need regulation change (not much of a hassle imo, I could volunteer to help with that)
Second point: might have opposition from big factions that want to move everything they have and too lazy to build more in new server map after update.
I think all wilderness should be reset, keeping a certain distance between the area claimed by factions and the unclaimed area.
That is, there should be at least those three chunks you mentioned from your faction’s boundary that even if they’re wilderness shouldn’t be reset, but rather the ones further away (so there aren’t such abrupt breaks between the old and new generations).
This means everything, including all land. Nothing should be lost.
Not sure why you’d want to be forced keep less stuff.
Regenerating land is a problem atm in some of the older areas, but shouldn’t be in the future. Performing it automatically however is a much larger challenge…
So from now on its only square and in permanent chunks, staff don’t need to bother with anything outside those. So thus the word “permanently” as in from now on its easier? Sorry if not well understand
