Here’s the thing, whenever you connect to anything on the internet (i.e. a website, game server, etc.). Your Public IP address will be provided to whatever you connected to. So when you use the internet, you’re trusting whatever you’re connecting to not to abuse the fact they have it. Although in most cases having one can’t get you that much information as most GeoIP Location isn’t that accurate in most areas.
Really, anything you use on the internet can have a security issue at some point resulting in some of your data being exposed. That’s just a risk you take when you use the internet. It’s not an issue specific to here and it’s not even an issue specific to game servers, it’s just how the internet works.
